La Società di Mutuo Soccorso fra Carpentieri e Calafati, fondata a Venezia il 1° aprile 1867, è la più antica associazione esistente in città. Erede diretta dell’antica Scola picola dei Calafai a l’Arsenal, oggi accoglie tutti i cittadini che credono nella solidarietà e nei valori del Mutuo Soccorso. L’attività principale è basata sulla condivisione delle risorse raccolte con il contributo mutualistico annuale, il cui fondo “Mutualità Soci” eroga i sussidi a tutti i suoi soci, senza distinzioni di età o salute, incarnando il principio della “porta aperta” e della mutua assistenza.
